Del Mar Craft Beer & Cider Fest

The Craft Beer Fest is back for the holidays! Choose from more than 100 selections of local, international, seasonal and hard-to-find specialty craft brews, ciders, wine and craft cocktails. Meet the local brewers, check out beer inspired merchandise and groove to DJ’s in the Seaside Concert Area.  Beer & Cider Fest entry is free with track admission. Receive five tastings for $20 or purchase available full-sized portions. Event entry is open to all ages.

Sensory Analysis Seminar

The Orange County Brewers Guild is dedicated to the education and promotion of the great craft beer movement happening in our county. Developing sensory analysis skills allows attendees to become familiar with common off beer flavors; an important key to understanding craft beer, its quality and importance of proper storage & handling. This course walks you through some basic off-flavors that can occur. At each class, seven different common off flavors will be tasted and discussed. This course lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

Off flavors included: Acetaldehyde, D.M.S., Isoamyl, Contamination, Diacetyl, Papery, Light Struck

Fall Technical Seminar

The Orange County Brewers Guild presents our first one-day Brewers Technical Seminar. The OC Brewers Guild mission is to provide promotion and education to the public as well as our members. Through our Training Seminars we look to provide opportunities for brewery members to gain access to key speakers in the industry; to learn about current trends and practices. We have compiled a key headline of technical presenters who can educate a broad scope of attendees as some are just starting out and others who are already well developed in their brewing profession. Topics to address include: Malt, Water, Hops, Yeast, Barrel Aging, Sour beer program, and Quality Assurance.
